The Right Music Matters

Crime is A Disease...Flashback or Comeback?

Sylvester Stallone walked by a Hollywood studio one day and happened to see and hear a video being mixed. It led to the single from the solo debut album being personally selected by Stallone for his film Cobra.

When the music caught the attention of Virgin Records President Sir Richard Branson he immediately offered the artist his own label with Virgin Records. Then when the music caught the attention of Columbia Records President Al Teller he immediately offered the artist a U.S. deal for the album which he and Branson both made a priority release. The song was eventually selected as the title track for the movie and the Stallone trailer, which at the time received the largest worldwide advertising and promotional budget for a Hollywood film to date.

The initial reception for Cobra was harsh by critics enticing the public to believe the film a failure. Fans responded slaying critics when Cobra debuted Memorial Day weekend #1 at the box office taking in over $15.6-million, more than double its contender Top Gun and broke the previous year's record set by Rambo Part 2. It confirmed Stallone's decision in making the movie the right choice and selecting the right music for film does matter.

The single, "Feel the Heat" from the Jean Beauvoir solo debut album Drums Along the Mohawk entered Billboard's Hot 100 in the US, hit the "Top 10" charts across Europe and Australia and was featured in heavy rotation on MTV and VH1 for months upon release. Cobra went on to become a huge financial success taking in over $160-million, over six times its original $25-million budget, The movie and soundtrack are still selling today with both receiving high reviews through Amazon and other outlets.

There are multiple videos for the "Feel the Heat" video featuring Cobra available on YouTube and various other outlets. We began monitoring several of those videos over the past few months, with a fifth added in May. At the close of business June 30, 2017, those monitored videos have amassed well over 1-million additional views bringing their total in at 4,381,094 to date since promotions including them began earlier this year.

The fifth video we began tracking and using for promotions was added to the Facebook Site of Sylvester Stallone on May 8, 2017, where it remains in his feature for Cobra entitled Crime Is A Disease...flashback or comeback? for his fans to comment on.
