When music from the album "Drums Along the Mohawk" caught the attention of Virgin Records President Sir Richard Branson he immediately offered Beauvoir his own label with Virgin. When "Feel The Heat" and other songs on the album caught the attention of Columbia Records President Al Teller he immediately offered Beauvoir a U.S. deal for the album which he and Branson both made a priority release. "Feel the Heat" was eventually selected as the title track for the movie and the Stallone trailer, which at the time received the largest worldwide advertising and promotional budget for a Hollywood film to date.

The initial reception for Cobra was harsh by critics enticing the public to believe the film a failure. Fans responded slaying critics when Cobra debuted Memorial Day weekend #1 at the box office taking in over $15.6-million, more than double its contender Top Gun and broke the previous year's record set by Rambo Part 2.

"Feel the Heat" entered Billboard's Hot 100 in the US, hit the "Top 10" charts across Europe and Australia and was featured in heavy rotation on MTV and VH1 for months upon release. Cobra went on to become a huge financial success taking in over $160-million, over six times its original $25-million budget. The movie, movie soundtrack and album "Drums Along the Mohawk" by Jean Beauvoir are still selling today with all three receiving high reviews through Amazon and other outlets.

"Missing the Young Days" also became a favorite off the album resulting in a popular video of its own. It along with other popular songs on the album are considered some of the "best funk-rock and dance music" of their time. Since Beauvoir began rereleasing music from the album to radio over the past few months he has been watching as various songs from album have been hitting music charts.

Prior to his solo career Beauvoir was the bassist, keyboardist and one of the songwriters for the Plasmatics who gained an international, underground following for what would become known as "Punk" music. The Plasmatics were the most outrageous, controversial and successful Punk Rock bands ever. Beauvoir was also a longtime songwriter and producer for the Ramones, also considered "one of the greatest Punk bands" in the world. Together they are two of the most revolutionary bands in music history. Today, the members of the Plasmatics and the Ramones are revered as the "Godfathers and Grand Dame (Wendy O. Williams) of Punk & Metal.
