The Bellamy Brothers have been releasing music and selling out concert venues all over the world for more than four decades. Now, the duo, made up of real-life siblings David and Howard Bellamy will give fans a glimpse into their lives behind the scenes, in a new reality TV show, "Honky Tonk Ranch" airing on The Cowboy Channel.
David and Howard Bellamy open their doors to cameras as their family balances ranching, recording, world touring, running a record label and guiding the careers of the next generation of Bellamy music aspirations.
"As far as everyone knows we’re just a nice, normal family," David Bellamy says in a statement. "But there’s a lot of chaos to control and there’s no hiding from the cameras once they’re rolling."
In addition to launching the "Honky Tonk Ranch" series The Bellamy Brothers announced their new autobiography, "Let Your Love Flow: Life and Times of the Bellamy Brothers" on Hallmark Channel's Home and Family. They were guest performers on Hallmark Channel’s “Home & Family” on February 1st. "Let Your Love Flow: Life and Times of the Bellamy Brothers" is set for release April 17th.
The Bellamy Brothers have one of the most storied careers in Country Music. They're favored Pop music of the 70's took a left turn right into Country as the 80's rolled in and no matter where their music has taken them, they just kept playing it forward; emerging as one of the most successful duos in country music history. They are the duo who set a high bar while paving the way for future duos like the Judds, Montgomery Gentry, Brooks & Dunn, Florida Georgia Line, and Sugarland to name a few. They hold the record in both the Academy of Country Music (ACM) and the Country Music Association Awards (CMA) for the most duo nominations; with numerous Grammy nods.
In addition to their success in the US, they have enjoyed success releasing various albums in the UK, Germany, Canada, Australia, France, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Austria, Japan, Portugal, Belgium, Kenya, South Africa, and Czechoslovakia. The Bellamy Brothers made history in 2014 by becoming the only country act to tour in both India and Sri Lanka.
Today, the Bellamy Brothers continue finding success around the world. In 2011 they had a compilation album top Norwegian charts and have enjoyed over two dozen hit songs released outside of the US. In 2013, their third major release in Europe, the album "Bellamy Brothers & Friends: Across the Sea" hit #5 on Swiss Music Charts, and was the #1 album (by sales) for weeks in Switzerland. Their album "Mermaid Cowgirl" (2014), won them Gold Record status in Switzerland. They also recorded four albums in Germany with Ralph Siegel for release in Europe.
They continue touring with over 200-shows a year and the crowds of today include new generations of music fans, proving once again great music will never die. “We’re old road dogs,” grins Howard when asked about the motivation behind the brothers 200-plus concert dates each year. Adds David: “Our live draw is bigger than it was in the ‘80’s. I think the same people that grew up with us and with our music in the ‘60’s and ‘70’s obviously have raised a whole new generation of Bellamy fans who started toddling to our music. Now they’re turning up at our concerts as college kids, who are really turned on and tuned in to us and our music….it’s a great feeling.”
So catch The Bellamy Brothers if you can, whether on the road or on the The Cowboy Channel coming soon. "Honky Tonk Ranch" will premiere on Sunday, April 8, at 8:30pm EST/7:30pm CT on The Cowboy Channel.
