On December 11, 2017, Creed II star Michael B. Jordan announced Director Steven Caple Jr. has been handed the reins of the sequel, a decision reportedly made personally by Stallone and Jordan after a lengthy search.
Stallone responded on selecting Caple as the new director: “The character of Adonis Creed reflects this generation and its challenges,” said Stallone. “I believe it’s important for the director to also be a part of this generation like I was in mine, to make the story as relatable as possible.” He added, “We are extremely lucky to have the talented young filmmaker Steven Caple Jr. step up and accept the role of director. I am confident that he and Michael B. Jordan will hit it out of the park!”
Michael B. Jordan whose television and movie roles are lengthy is set to reprise his role as Adonis Johnson, the son of Apollo Creed in Creed II. Some of his previous works include Reggie Montgomery (All My Children), Vince Howard (Friday Night Lights), Johnny Storm (The Fantastic Storm), and Adonis Johnson (Creed), to name a few. Creed II is tentatively scheduled to hit movie theaters November 2018.
Sylvester Stallone is one of the most successful actors, directors and producers of our time.
