Tatanka Means in New Feature Film

In theatres June 28th - Horizon: An American Saga, a new feature film by actor and producer Kevin Costner. The feature film is an upcoming two-part American epic Western film described as a two-part event. The film is scheduled to premiere at the 77th Cannes Film Festival on May 19, 2024, with Chapters 1 and 2 scheduled to be theatrically released in the United States on June 28, 2024 and August 16, 2024, respectively, by Warner Bros. Pictures.

The film chronicles a multi-faceted, 15-year span of pre-and post-Civil War expansion and settlement of the American west. Tatanka Means, a gifted actor, comedian and speaker will portray the character Taklishim.


Means' first screen role was in 2004 playing lead stunt double in the film Black Cloud, which was shot in the same gym where he had previously trained as a boxer. Several other major roles in films and TV series include the miniseries "Into the West" where he portrayed the Legendary Lakota War Leader Crazy Horse. In "More Than Frybread", he played Buddy Begay, a "hip-hop Navajo fry-bread rock star" who sells fry-bread from a truck on the reservation.
