Pet Sematary by the Ramones selected as one of 100-songs featured in Halloween Night, a special Halloween event filled with 7-hours of non-stop music by the 365 Radio Network.
"Pet Sematary" from the album Brain Drain by the Ramones was originally written for the Stephen King movie of the same name. The single was produced by Jean Beauvoir (The Plasmatics) who is credited with giving the single a more commercial style fit for radio play and film inclusion. Although sounding closer to the rock ballads of the period, it was initially a struggle for Johnny Ramone to play the arpeggios and chords however, the single became one of the Ramones' biggest radio hits and a staple in their concerts.
The music video for "Pet Sematary" was filmed at the Sleepy Hollow Cemetery in New York on a cold night in January 1989. The video features scenes from the film and the Ramones playing in an hydraulic platform placed inside an open grave, which was lowered until in the ending a horde covers the band in a "The Ramones" headstone. The video also features cameo appearances by Debbie Harry and Chris Stein of Blondie, and members of The Dead Boys. It was the last Ramones video featuring Dee Dee Ramone.
