"Welcome to Babylon" by the Los Angeles based rock band Disciples of Babylon has been hailed as "the best three songs Bon Jovi never recorded" by review. The single "Karma" on the album fast became the bands most popular song when it was selected by the Eclectic Music Blog as one of the "Top 100 Songs of 2015" along side such well known acts as the Foo Fighters, Muse, Royal Blood, U2 and many others. The band itself was selected as one of the “Top 25 Best Critiqued Bands” of 2015 by Music Connection Magazine.
The single "KARMA" has been added to various radios stations including 89 a Rádio Rock, the largest FM radio station in Brazil where it continues in rotation. The single as well as other music from the album is regularly featured on the radio show On Air with Caroline on SWR 99.9 FM, Sydney, Australia and "Debbie's On the Verge" at Magic 98.3 FM, New Jersey. "KARMA" was a lso played on SIRIUS FM radio at a Black Sabbath concert during their US farewell tour.
The Disciples of Babylon were selected as the opening act for the Gladiator MMA Championship Series, Saturday, July 8, 2017, at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. Prior to this, the band was previously selected as the opening act for ADELITA's Way during the Los Angeles leg of their 2017 tour and were heavy contenders to open for Bon Jovi during their 2017 "This is Our House" tour. The "World famous Viper" in Hollywood, CA played host to he bands first headlining concert. The band received their first feature cover story on Live Loud Magazine in March 2017.
The debut album "Welcome to Babylon" was produced by GRAMMY winning producer Andres Torres, at the time a new up and coming producer which had primarily worked with notable acts in the Latin Rock genre. "Welcome to Babylon" marked Torres first foray working with an American Rock band. Most recently, the Torres produced single "Despacito" remix featuring Justin Bieber reached #1 on the Hot 100 for the week ending May 27, 2017. As of July 3, 2017, it has topped the chart for eight consecutive weeks. In April, Andres Torres completed production work on the Disciples of Babylon first full length album set for release later this year.
As seasoned musicians, the members of DOB have accumulated several national releases independently and some having opened for the biggest names in Rock music including Aerosmith, KISS, The Dave Matthews Band, and Kid Rock. The band members have toured extensively throughout the United States and abroad, and have been featured at popular music festivals such as the Vans’ Warped Tour. The "Original Series - The Story of Babylon" began Airing November 27, 2016.
